Welcome to our Kwoon!

What is KungFu and Purpose of our Kwoons?

KungFu is the oldest form of eastern martial arts. It is the grandfather of all Asian martial arts. Karate, Tae Kwon Dao, and Juijitsu trace their linage back to Chinese KungFu. The Wing Chun system of KungFu is an extremely effect combat martial art.
Nonetheless, the sole purpose of this Kwoon is not to teach students just to fight. It is to guide students to a new way of life through the development of the physical, energetic, and spiritual bodies. In Chinese, these three core bodies of personal development are Chi, Jing, and Shen. Through the path of self-development along with self-defense, each student will obtain the full benefits of the Martial Art called Wing Chun KungFu.

What is a Kwoon?

What is a Kwoon?

A Kwoon translated from Chinese to English means a school. Hence, a Chinese Kwoon is equivalent to a Karate DoJo and that is where the similarity ends. A Chinese Kwoon is rooted in the family. On the contrary, Japanese Dojo is founded and built upon strict military discipline. The titles used in the Kwoon such as SiGung, SiFu, SiDai, and SiJie are translated into English as Granfather, Father, Brother, and Sister. The names, itself, create a sense of a family atmosphere.
